Dawkins compares ‘cultural transmission
Dawkins compares ‘cultural transmission’ to ‘genetic transmission’ in attempt to illustrate the ‘meme’ in a known scientific context. He points out that the like genetic transmission; it can result in evolution and bring in to being new forms of cultures from the existing ones. Language exemplifies Dawkins’ idea by the rapid nature of its change, with the 14th century English being obsolete in the present era (Dawkins 1). Language is in this case a meme; a part of the human culture that can be imitated (Blackmore 7). Dawkins’s posits that memes, through replication, are the reason behind evolution of human culture.[R1]
